Who could have possibly predicted that a company run by Jack Dorsey, the patron saint of “hire everyone, fire everyone, repeat” would end up doing exactly what he always does?

And yet, the same wide-eyed technophiles keep lining up, year after year, believing this time the vibes will manifest into a sound strategy.

Because nothing says “visionary leader” like running the same scam, year after year and somehow convincing everyone he’s unlocked the future of work.

I hate to pile on here to the poor folks at Block who just got fired, but this scene from Walls Street rings in ears whenever a new “operationalefficiencyautomationAI”-washing machine hits real people.
